Frequently Asked Questions:

Q.  Can applicants apply for multiple projects throughout the year?
A.  Yes, applicants apply more than one project per year, but please remember that there are many deserving non-profit agencies and award is limited based on number of volunteers required and date required.

Q.  Can applicants apply for multiple projects during one application placement cycle?
A.  Yes. However, whether or not your agency is selected for multiple projects during one cycle will be dependent upon the number of projects for which we receive applications during that cycle and whether or not there is competition for the dates you are seeking.

Q.  If I do apply for more than one placement project during one placement cycle, should I rank the projects in order of my agency’s need for volunteers?
A.  Yes. For example, if you apply for two projects in one cycle and it’s most critical for your agency to have volunteers for one project over another, you should rank the project with the most critical need for volunteers as “Project #1” in the application.

Q.  When should our agency apply for a project that will take place later this year?
A.  The deadlines change each year, so refer to the deadlines posted online for the particular year that you are applying.

Q.  What is the length of a typical shift for a volunteer?
A. 4 hours

Q.  Can I apply for both a Community project and a Done in a Day project?
A.  Yes, agencies may apply to be both a Community and a Done in a Day Project.

Q.  My agency applied for a Done in a Day project placement, but we were declined, can I apply again next year for this same project?
A.  Yes, an agency can apply for a project more than one time.

Q.  If no monetary help is needed, can we still apply for volunteer help?
A.  Yes.  If no monetary help is needed, please state this on the application.

Q.  How can the monetary portion of the Done in a Day projects be used?
A.  The monetary maximum is $75 for each Done in a Day project.  These funds can be used for refreshments or supplies, among other things.  Please state the proposed use of the funds and the proposed amount on the application so approval can be given for both the amount and the use of funds.
